Life at the Clean Community Project (CCP) is about supporting a better, cleaner, happier, healthier and safer life for all Americans. As a Non-profit 501(c)3 Private Foundation, all proceeds remain in our programs and in your community to provide discounted or free services for qualified families and businesses, where insurance doesn’t cover the cost of professional clean-up services or where the financial burden makes it unaffordable.  Please click here to see if you are eligible for discounted or free services.

CCP provide compassionate, experienced, respectful and discreet hoarder clean up technicians who are able to carry out the removal and disposal of accumulated possessions, rubbish and clutter from a hoarder’s home, whether a deceased estate or a currently occupied premises, in the most sensitive and private manner.

The clean-up whether partial or full clearance is relatively straight forward, however generally hoarders have extreme emotional connections to the objects that they surround themselves with and seeing them thrown out one after another can be an extremely traumatic experience for them. CCP technicians are highly trained in the psychology behind the hoarding disorder and are proficient at minimizing the traumatic impact hoarding clean-up has on a hoarder. This allows us to make the most progress possible, as CCP is compassionate to your needs and understands your situation. A hoarders’ home can be an overwhelming task for family to deal with and we are grateful to be able to assist.

Hoarding is a form of an obsessive-compulsive disorder and can be more about the fear of throwing something away than about collection or saving. Thinking about discarding an item, regardless of value, triggers anxiety in the hoarder, so they hang on to the item to prevent angst. The intentions of the person collecting multiple items to save and store for themselves or loved ones always begins from a thoughtful mindset, but the overabundance can eventually turn the property into a biohazard and health danger zone for them and anyone else occupying the space.

Hoarding has received a lot of exposure due to reality television highlighting how hoarding distresses families and angers neighbors and causes major health issues. A 2008 study by Johns Hopkins University scientists estimated that nearly 4 percent of the population are hoarders. It is estimated compulsive hoarding affects approximately 700,000 to 1.4 million people in the US alone.

The Clean-up Process

The clean-up process largely depends on the type of hoarding that’s occurred, whether it be hoarding cats or dogs or magazines, clothes or food. CCP technicians can assist with all types of hoarding, as the clean-up process can have extreme health risks, including exposure to serious pathogens such as hanta virus, histoplasmosis and staph bacteria, gross filth, urine, faeces, and offensive odours. CCP biohazard remediation and hoarding technicians are trained experts at cleaning these types of biohazard infectious materials in a compassionate and understanding way.

First, we remove and dispose of any unsalvageable materials, following local, state and federal regulations for hazardous materials and personal protective equipment. We help the hoarder go through their belongings using the sort and sift process, deciding which items will be kept, donated, or disposed of. Our organising service helps clients keep their belongings using labels, shelving units, storage bins and even purchasing new storage units. CCP clears all junk and rubbish from all areas and then loads all unwanted items into our trucks for removal.

Finally, we sanitize, clean, and deodorize the entire area, using proprietary cleaning solutions and processes, to help protect the property value. We utilise proven cleaning regimens that can remove offensive odours including the source of the odour. We remove all traces of the urine, faeces and other contaminants and have the ability to deal with the airborne infectious material that may be present as a result of birds, pets, and other pests.

Our team can deal with all hoarder house clean ups scenarios and CCP understands the sensitivity that is required. We cover every aspect of clean-up from start to finish. We remove all clutter, sanitise your entire home, remove odours and ensure that your premises is left in the best condition possible. CCP technicians take pride in the quality of our work and ensure your home is returned to its original state.
